Women's Rowing Competes at Head of Charles Regatta

Rowing competes at prestigious event

 



 





BOSTON, Mass. (October 24, 2011) -- The Franklin Pierce University women's rowing team competed in the varsity-four race at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta this past weekend on the St. John's River in Boston, Mass.

 





Competing against some of the top teams in the region and the country, the Franklin Pierce women's team finished 31st in the event in a time of 22:40.77. Team members included Morgan Miller (Kingston, N.Y.) at the stroke, Samantha Bizon (South Windsor, Conn.) at the three, Jessica Whittemore (Auburn, N.H.) at the two, Alexa Demsey (Groveton, N.H.) at the bow and Shannon Dacey (Pittsfield, Maine) at the cox.

The team will return to action this weekend as it competes in the Head of the Fish in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
