Men's & Women's Rowing Teams Recap & Preview (5/5/2010)

Both men's and women's teams will be competing in the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia this Friday



RINDGE, N.H. (May 5, 2010) -- The Franklin Pierce University men's varsity four rowing team finished third in its respective event at the 2010 New England College Rowing Championships this past weekend in Worcester, Mass. The Ravens finished in a time of 7:21.675, and it marked the second-consecutive race the team finished among the top three in an event.

The team members included Ian Randall at stroke, Dan Forget at three, Pat Brosnan at two, Brett Dicrescenzo at bow and Zach Goodman at the cox.

Franklin Pierce now gets set to compete in the 2010 Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia, Pa., this Friday. The men's varsity four will be competing in the event, while the women's team will enter a pair of rowers.

The men's varsity four will race in their respective heat at 7:14 a.m., while the women's pair without cox will compete at 10:16 a.m. in their heat. The top-two teams in the men's race will move on to the semifinals, while the top-three teams in the women's event will move onto the semis.

The men's varsity four team that competed in the New England Rowing Championships will remain the same in Philadelphia. The women's duo will include Morgan Miller at the bow and Mairecait Binienda at the stroke.

Results from Friday's Dad Vail Regatta, and how the Ravens did, will be posted online at athletics.franklinpierce.edu that evening.
