Men’s and Women’s Cross Country: Ravens Continue to Impress at Pop Crowell Invitational

Wenham, Mass. (09/14/24) - The men's and women's cross country teams ran in the Pop Crowell Invitational in Wenham, Mass., on Saturday. The men's team would win their second meet in as many races, with Ryan Outerbridge (Paget, Bermuda) and Angel Alonso (Malaga, Spain) finishing in first and second in the 8k race. The women's team would place fourth, with Hailey Desmarais (Assonet, Mass.) finishing first for the Ravens for her consecutive race in the 6k race.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The men's 8k race was the first race to run. Ryan Outerbridge led the Ravens once again. Outerbridge finished with a time of 26:26.3. That time was good enough for a first-place finish. Alonso finished just behind Outerbridge with a time of 26:26.5. Pouliot finished in second place. In eighth place, Harrison Pelosi (Gloucester, Mass.) finished with a time of 27:40.3. Then, in ninth place, Sam Fortin would pick up a time of 27:46.4. John Viens (Berkshire, Vt.) was the next Raven runner to cross the line, with a time of 28:10.1 and a eleventh-place finish. After Viens was Logan Mihelich (Northwood, N.H.), who finished with a time of 28:18.4. Then, Liam Doherty would cross the finish line for the Ravens. Doherty finished with a time of 28:44. Riley Tremblay (Mansfield, Mass.) finished after Doherty with a time of 30:08.8. Aidan Healy (Bedford, N.H.) would close out the finishing for the Ravens. The Ravens would finish with 28 points in the 8k race, and that earned them first place in the race.
The women's team raced in the 6k race after the men's race. Desmarais finished first for the Ravens in ninth place overall with a time of 23:51.7. This time puts Desmarais at number seven on the all-time list for the 6k in her college debut at this distance. Desmarais was followed by Ellie McOnie-Lownsbrough who finished in sixteenth place. McOnie-Lownsbrough finished with a time of 24:59.0. Next for the Ravens is Tatum Seastrand who would finish with a time of 25:53.1. Meghan Sheline (Southington, Conn.) would finish in fourth place for the Ravens. Sheline finished with a time of 25:53.1. Jasmin Baillargeon (South Wheelock, Vt.) would finish next. Baillargeon finished with a final time of 26:16.6 that earned Baillargeon 30th place. Isabella Generelli (Worcester, Mass.) would cross the finish line next for the Ravens with a time of 28:06.3. Following Generelli, first year runner Lauren Muldoon would finish with a time of 29:39.3. Closing out the finishing for the Ravens would be Lillian Byrne with a time of 29:29.1. The Ravens finished with 101 total points and earned fourth place in the Pop Crowell Invitational.
WHAT'S NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: Franklin Pierce will take next weekend off but will be back in action on September 28, 2024, for the Harry F. Anderson Invitational.
