HOPKINTON, N.H. (October 2, 2021) -- The Franklin Pierce University Men's Cross Country team hosted the Bruce Kirsh Cross Country Cup at the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds on Saturday, and a successful hosting stint it was. Not only did the Ravens win the race and beat out eight other teams on the 8k course, but senior Will Aylward (Peabody, Mass.) took the meet victory on the individual front as well.

The Ravens had the top three finishers in the meet, and five of the first six, to narrowly miss out on a clean sweep with their scoring five. It all added up to just 17 points for Franklin Pierce, and a 37-point victory over second-place Saint Anselm (54 points). Bridgewater State rounded out the top three at 110 points.

Leading the pack of runners was Aylward, who claimed first place for his 25:17 time. Sophomore Thomas Darrah (Thetford, Vt.) finished right on his heels, taking second for his 25:31 finish. He was followed by senior Cody Tallent (Bellows Falls, Vt.), who claimed third for his 25:39 time. Finishing in fifth was graduate student Sebastien Vicary (Ulceby, United Kingdom), who ran the race in 25:42.

In sixth was sophomore Ryan Outerbridge (Paget, Bermuda), who ran a time of 26:00, to close out Franklin Pierce's scoring five. Sophomore Ryan Walker (Seabrook, N.H.) claimed 13th for his 27:02 time, shortly in front of freshman Logan Mihelich (Northwood, N.H.), who claimed 17th for his 27:27 time.

Also racing for the Ravens was freshman Harrison Pelosi (Gloucester, Mass.), who claimed 23rd for his 27:51 time. Posting a time of 29:57 was freshman Cole Cooper (North Hampton, N.H.), who claimed 39th. In 42nd was junior Ibrahim Ayyash (Worcester, Mass.), who chalked up a time of 30:11. He was followed close behind by sophomore Mitchell Stokes (Worcester, Mass.), who took 45th for his 30:27 time. In 53rd was freshman Cam Huck (Somerset, Mass.), who raced a time of 31:10. Finishing out the day for the team was freshman Aidan Healy (Bedford, N.H.), who raced a time of 35:39 to claim 72nd.

The Ravens will be back at it next weekend, on Saturday, Oct. 9, for the Lewis Crossover, hosted by Lewis University, in Romeoville, Ill.
