Young-Bey Sets New Program Record for 400-Meter at NCAA DII National Championship

PUEBLO, Colo. (5/25/23) – Quoted as "one of the greatest to ever wear a Raven uniform", Franklin Pierce University outdoor track & field senior Nyjah Young-Bey (Montclair, N.J.) capped her collegiate career in the best way possible by setting a new program record in the Women's 400-Meter Dash, serving as the lone Pierce participant at the 2023 NCAA DII Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday evening.

Young-Bey, who previously occupied second all-time in the 400-Meter, jumped over the program record owned by former National Champion CeCe Telfer which was set back in 2019 at the Northeast-10 Outdoor Championship (54.41). Young-Bey officially slotted in as the program's all-time best with a 54.38 race time on Thursday evening, placing 14th overall after being seeded 20th in the event.

Throughout her accomplished career, Young-Bey has now made two NCAA Championship appearances, owns six individual Northeast-10 Championship titles, is a three-time USTFCCCA East Top-Performer Award winner, and altogether is a ten-time USTFCCCA All-East Region honoree for both indoor and outdoor competition.
