Elizabeth Jones, Coach Zach Emerson Haul In Top NE10 Outdoor Track & Field Honors

MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference officially announced its major outdoor track & field award winners on Tuesday afternoon, naming first-year pole vaulter Elizabeth Jones (St. Johnsbury, Vt.) the Women's Field Rookie of the Year, and head coach Zach Emerson and staff the Men's Coaching Staff of the Year.

For both Jones and coach Emerson, it is their first time receiving top honors from the Northeast-10 Conference.

Jones, who was previously crowned the 2023 NE10 Indoor Pole Vault Champion (3.05m), took home her second individual title in the event at the 2023 NE10 Outdoor Track & Field Championships, seizing the win the with a 3.15-meter performance, tying the current program record mark for the event. Between both the indoor and outdoor seasons, Jones claimed six event victories, and was tabbed the NE10's Field Rookie of the Week on two separate occasions. Additionally, the Raven freshman was also a two-time USTFCCCA All-East Region honoree as a Pole Vaulter, once for each respective Track & Field season.

Emerson and company claims the program's first ever staff recognition from the NE10 Conference, which is being bestowed for their efforts with the Men's program this past season. Recently at the NE10 Outdoor Championships, Emerson helped lead the Pierce men's squad to a runner-up finish out of nine competing programs, which also featured the program's first ever NE10 Most Valuable Athlete honoree, Wondu Summa. Between both sides, the Ravens finished with eight individual gold medalists at the Championship meet, and completed the outdoor season with five NE10 weekly award winners, two All-New England finishers, 15 All-East Region honorees from the USTFCCCA, and one NCAA DII National Championship selection. Emerson completes his 12th season at the helm of the Franklin Pierce Track & Field programs.
