Everidge Breaks Own School Record, Men’s Track & Field Second at SCSU

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (January 22, 2022) -- Junior Connor Everidge (Baldwinville, Mass.) led the Franklin Pierce University men's track & field team to a second-place finish on Saturday, out of seven teams at the William Sutherland invitational, hosted by Southern Connecticut State. Everidge claimed first in the weight throw with a 16.52-meter performance to break his own school record, and also threw 14.87 meters to take third in the shot put.

Sophomore Stephen Harris (Billerica, Mass.) claimed fifth in the high jump for clearing 1.85 meters, while fellow sophomore Connor Nordmann (Bethel, Conn.) took fourth in the pole vault after clearing 4.00 meters. Nordmann also took third in the triple jump for his 11.51-meter performance. Senior Ethan Pezzullo (Bristol, R.I.) took sixth in the long jump for his 6.30-meter performance.  

Behind Everidge in the throwing events, sophomore Sal Lando (Sterling, Mass.) threw 14.37 meters to claim fifth in shot put, while senior Croix Albee (Trenton, Maine) threw 14.28 meters to claim sixth. Albee also threw 13.73 meters in the weight throw to take fifth.

In the sprints, sophomore Nathan Rinaldi (Bristol, R.I.) took first in the 400-meter dash for his 51.49-second finish. Harris got fourth in the 55-meter dash for his 6.55-second run.

At longer distances, sophomore Thomas Darrah (Thetford, Vt.) claimed first in the 800 meters for his 2:01 time. Freshman Harrison Pelosi (Gloucester, Mass.) also raced, as he took seventh for his 2:09 time. In the 3000-meter run, graduate student Sebastien Vicary (Ulceby, United Kingdom) took second for his 8:57 time. He was followed by senior Cody Tallent (Bellows Falls, Vt.), who finished fourth for his 9:15 time, and freshman Logan Mihelich (Northwood, N.H.), who raced a time of 9:19 to claim fifth.

In terms of relevant Northeast-10 Conference marks, Rinaldi's run in the 400 put him fourth in the league on the season thus far. Meanwhile, Darrah's 800-meter time pushed him to eighth in the NE10, while Vicary also moved to eighth in the 3000 meters. Lando slid up to seventh in the shot put with his performance. Everidge had already been the NE10 leader in the weight throw, but extended his margin, while Albee is now sixth in the event.

The Ravens will split the squad up next weekend, sending competitors to both Boston University and Tufts.
