Men’s and Women’s Track & Field Combine for 11 All-Region Selections from USTFCCCA

RINDGE, N.H. (May 12, 2015)- Junior Vincent Biunno (Montgomery, N.Y.), junior Chris Bohi (Loudon, N.H.), sophomore Dage Minors (Hamilton Parish, Bermuda), and junior Nadine Hyde (Maple Valley, Wash.) all earned multiple honors each from the United States United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, leading 13 total All-Region performances by the Franklin Pierce University men's and women's track and field teams, as announced Monday night by the USTFCCCA.

The USTFCCCA bestows All-Region honors on those who post the five best performances in each region in an event, as well as to all members of a relay team which is ranked in the top three in the region. The Northeast-10 Conference produced 101 All-Region selections to lead all conferences for both men and women. Franklin Pierce had six men combine for eleven All-East Region selections, with a single woman earning honors in two events.

Biunno earned two of his All-East Region accolades in field events, as he was honored for his work in the high jump and pole vault. He earned one accolade in the 110 meter hurdles and finally one in the decathlon. Biunno currently ranks 22nd in the country in the decathlon with 6684 points, he ranks second in the Northeast-10 in the high jump with his top height at 6' 8" and with a height of 13' 5.25" he ranks fifth in the NE-10. He ranks third in the Northeast-10 for the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 14.78.

Bohi earned both of his All-East Region accolades in field events, the javelin and the pole vault. With a distance of 58.81 meters he ranks second in the NE-10 and 35th in the nation for javelin. He also ranks fifth in the NE-10 for the pole vault with his top height at 13' 5.75"

Minors earned his All-East Region accolades in the 400 and 800 meters. He currently ranks fifth in the NE-10 with a time if 49.22 in the 400 meter, and with a time of 1:50.54 he ranks  first in the NE-10 and 20th in the nation in the 800 meters.

Hyde was the only one on the women's side to earn All-East Region accolades, with both coming from field events, as she was honored for her efforts in the discus and hammer throws. She ranks second in the NE-10 with a distance of 122' 2" for the discus and fifth in the NE-10 for the hammer with a distance of 146' 9".

The remaing three selections came from the men's side from senior Antoine Gisore (Concord, N.H.), junior Colton Ham (Webster, N.H.), and Sophomore B.J. Smith (Concord, N.H.)  all on the track. Gisore ran 14:52.92 in the 5000 meters to rank sixth in the NE-10, while Ham ran 9:22.99 in the steeple chase to rank second in the NE-10. Smith ran 31:28.80 in the 10,000 meter to rank fourth in the NE-10.
