HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Ravens started the match on the right foot, taking the doubles point after a pair of wins at second and third doubles. • In singles play, Hiebel continued his stellar day with a straight-set win at No. 3, defeating Hugo Munoz Reinoso, 6-3, 6-3. That victory gave Franklin Pierce a 2-0 lead in the match, but the Panthers responded with four straight wins to clinch the championship. Adelphi earned victories at No. 1, 4, 5, and 6 singles, each in straight sets.
  • The No. 2 singles match between Noe Martin (Sainte-Agnès, France) and Louca Bertone went unfinished, with the two players having split sets.
