WALTHAM, Mass. (4/17/2025) – The Franklin Pierce Ravens men's tennis team had a dominant showing on Thursday afternoon, sweeping the Bentley Falcons 7-0 in Northeast-10 conference action.  

 Score: Franklin Pierce 7, Bentley 0 

Records: Franklin Pierce (7-9, 5-2 NE-10), Bentley (1-13, 0-8 NE-10)

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • The Ravens went perfect in their three doubles matches. In #1 doubles, graduate Joe Herin (Tias, Spain) and graduate Noe Martin (Sainte-Agnès, France) won their match 6-2. In #2 doubles, graduate Ralph Hiebel (Paris, France) and graduate Alejandro Ortiz (Madrid, Spain) cruised to a 6-3 victory. To close out in #3 doubles, junior Orlando Guerrero (Pachuco, Mexico) and sophomore Hugo Diaz Avila (Barcelona, Spain) won a hard-fought set 6-4.  

  • The Ravens also swept in their singles matches, winning all six over the Falcons. Joe Herin won his match in #1 singles 6-3, 6-2. Noe Martin coasted in #2 singles, winning his match 6-2, 6-0. In #3 singles, Ralph Hiebel was victorious 6-2, 6-4. In #4 singles, Alejandro Ortiz earned a win 6-2, 6-3. Orlando Guerrero grinded out a win in #5 singles, 7-6, 6-4. In the #6 singles match, Hugo Diaz Avila closed it out with a 6-4, 6-0 win.  

 

NEXT UP FOR THE RAVENS: The Ravens will travel to Manchester on Saturday (4/19) to take on their inter-state rival Southern New Hampshire University. The Northeast-10 conference match starts at 1 p.m.
