Ravens Tennis Drops Match to Queens

HOOKSETT, N.H. (4/16/2025) – The Franklin Pierce Ravens men's tennis team fell short on Wednesday afternoon to the Queens College Knights 4-1 in non-conference play. The game was a designated home game for the Ravens, played at Southern New Hampshire in Hooksett.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Ravens lone point in the match came from two doubles wins. In #1 doubles, graduate Noe Martin (Sainte-Agnès, France) and graduate Joe Herin (Tias, Spain) won their set 6-4. In the #2 doubles match, graduate Ralph Hiebel (Paris, France) and graduate Alejandro Ortiz (Madrid, Spain) won the set 6-3.

The Knights made up their ground in the singles matches. Noe Martin was defeated in #2 singles 7-5, 6-2. Ralph Hiebel fell short in #3 singles, dropping both sets 6-4, 6-2. In #5 singles, junior Orlando Guerrero (Pachuco, Mexico) lost his match 6-2, 7-5. To round out the match in #6 singles, sophomore Hugo Diaz Avila (Barcelona, Spain) was defeated 6-3, 6-1.

Two matches were unfinished including #1 singles with Joe Herin and #4 singles with Alejandro Ortiz. Joe Herin lost the first set 6-3 but was tied 6 all when the match stopped. Alejandro Ortiz dropped his first set 7-5 and was down 5-2 in the second set when the match stopped.
NEXT UP FOR THE RAVENS: The Ravens are back in action tomorrow (4/17) at Bentley. The Northeast-10 conference match starts at 3 p.m. against the Falcons.
