Men's Tennis Drops 7-0 Dual at Merrimack College

ANDOVER, Mass. (2/14/23) – The Franklin Pierce men's tennis team found themselves swept for the second straight day on Sunday afternoon, this time at the hands of non-conference opponent Merrimack College, falling by a score of 7-0 on the road.

With the loss, men's tennis moves to 3-3 overall on the year, and 0-2 to begin the spring campaign. Merrimack College improves to 3-4 overall in their respective campaign.

Merrimack claimed the doubles point after dominant outings from all three Warrior tandems of Aryaan Bhatia / Henrik Lindeman, Charles Robertson / Valentin Riveros and Daksh Agarwal / Pedro Mancini. Those wins, with two by 6-2 finals, helped the hosts to a quick lead heading into singles play.

Only one Raven was able to push their respective Warrior opponent to a third set in singles competition, but were unable to pull off the victory. Graduate Ethan Hall (Duxbury, Mass.) pulled out a dominant 6-1 second set victory over Pedro Mancini at the No. 6 spot to tie the match up at 1-all. However, despite pushing things to the limit in the final set, Hall would narrowly fall by a 7-5 tiebreak score. All other remaining matchups in singles would be decided in two sets.

Men's Tennis will not see another opponent until after the turn of the month, where they will face MIT (0-2) on their turf on Saturday, March 11th at Noon.
