Men's Tennis Overrun at SNHU, 6-1

Manchester, N.H. (4/12/22) – The troubles continued for men's tennis in an early week matchup at Southern New Hampshire University, as the Ravens lost to the Penmen on Tuesday afternoon by a final outcome of 6-1. The lone point was claimed in a closely contested fifth singles win for senior Preston Gordon (Essex Junction, VT).

The match had been previously scheduled for April, 9th but was postponed due to weather conditions.

With the loss, Franklin Pierce men's tennis moves to 4-8 on the season, and 1-3 against NE10 opponents. Southern New Hampshire remains perfect on the season, moving to 7-0 with the home victory.

Through two sets in fifth singles, Gordon claimed victory over opponent Boris Stastny by winning both sets on tiebreakers, each finalized at 7-5 scores. Despite it being the only point secured, two other singles matches were played to a full three sets, with Kevin Denecheau (Artigueloutan, France) and Nkrumah Patrick (Tunapuna, Trinidad and Tobago) each winning their second sets at third and fourth singles respectively.

Men's Tennis has a quick turnaround, and remains on the road for their next matchup with just two more matches remaining this spring season. Up next, the squad will travel to Worcester, Massachusetts to faceoff with Assumption College on Wednesday, April 13th at 3PM.
