Men’s Tennis Falls to Adelphi, 9-0

Ravens wrap up 2014 campaign

Gilhuly Gilhuly wrapped up his collegiate career for the Ravens on Saturday against Adelphi.

RINDGE, N.H. (April 19, 2013) – The Franklin Pierce University men's tennis team was defeated on Saturday afternoon, 9-0, by Adelphi in Northeast-10 Conference play at Franklin Pierce.

With the loss, Franklin Pierce concludes its season at 4-8 (3-7 Northeast-10), while Adelphi improves to 10-6 (8-2 Northeast-10).

Senior Pat Gilhuly (Killingworth, Conn.), who was playing in his final collegiate match, and junior Christopher Brewer (Brattleboro, Vt.) teamed at first doubles and nearly picked up a point for the Ravens, before eventually falling to Adelphi sophomores Sander Brenner and Uladzislau Litvinchuk, 9-7. Brewer put up a fight at second doubles as well, as he matched up with sophomore Sebastian Zapata, but ultimately fell, 6-4, 6-4.

All six Adelphi players won in both singles and doubles play on Saturday afternoon. Brenner led the way, as he won at both first singles and first doubles. After his doubles win with Litvinchu, he went past Gilhuly at first singles, 6-3, 6-2.
