WALTHAM, Mass. (11/2/24) – The Franklin Pierce Ravens men's soccer team had to settle for a 2-2 draw in their season finale at Bentley on Saturday in Northeast-10 conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Despite outshooting the Falcons 8-2 in the first half, the game remained scoreless after the first 45 minutes.

The Ravens broke the scoreless tie in the 58th minute. Sophomore midfielder Tiago Barriguinha (Alverca, Portugal) sent a beautiful cross into the box off a free kick and graduate defender Julen Martin (Bilbao, Spain) was there on the back door to fire it home, giving the Ravens the 1-0 lead.

The Ravens tacked onto their lead just 3 minutes later. Junior midfielder Antonio Lima (Lisbon, Portugal) dribbled the ball on the right wing and fired a shot that was saved but popped free for a rebound as sophomore forward Andy Chisholm (Little Compton, R.I.) flicked it in to make it 2-0 Ravens.

The Falcons didn't give up easy. Chad Meyers scored an incredible goal off a free kick to cut the deficit to 2-1 for the Falcons.

The Ravens couldn't hold onto their lead for the remainder of the match, as Chad Meyers equalized the score at 2-2 off a penalty kick after a call went against sophomore defender Joaquin Lauria Calvo for contact in the box.
