AMHERST, N.Y. (10/30/24) – Despite playing with 10 men for the remaining 33 minutes of the second half due to a Jesse Oostendorp (Doetinchem, The Netherlands) red card, Julen Martin (Bilbao, Spain) lifted the Ravens to a 1-0 win over the Daemen University Wildcats in non-conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Despite dominating the first half and outshooting the Wildcats 12-1, the Ravens couldn't find the back of the net.

The game took an unexpected turn in the second half as freshman defender Jesse Oostendorp received a red card. He'll be ineligible for the Ravens season finale in NE-10 play at Bentley on Saturday.

Despite playing with only 10 men, the Ravens were able to respond. Sophomore midfielder Tiago Barriguinha (Alverca, Portugal) dished a pass on a corner kick to graduate defender Julen Martin (Bilbao, Spain) who buried a shot to break the ice and give the Ravens the 1-0 lead, a lead they would not relinquish. Martin's goal was his first as a Raven.
