Men's Soccer: Ravens Advance to Third Round of NCAA Playoffs After 3-0 Win Over Bloomsburg

RINDGE, N.H. (11/18/2023) – Three different Ravens scored to propel the number one nationally ranked Franklin Pierce men's soccer team past Bloomsburg University 3-0, advancing to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament.  

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • Thomas Esperoe (Bremnes, Norway) got the party started with a header inside the box after a beautiful cross on a corner kick from Jero Ferri (Valencia, Spain), to put the Ravens ahead 1-0.  

  • Shortly after, the Ravens would strike again. Joao Valente (Gaia, Portugal) lofted a cross to Younes Addar Khanoussi (Castellon, Spain), who tucked it in the right corner with his left foot, gifting the Ravens a 2-0 lead.  

  • The Ravens would put the nail in the coffin in the first half. Alvaro Rey Mira (Cabanas, Spain) sent a cross into the box, and Antonio Lampreia Lima (Lisbon, Portugal) cleaned up the loose change and snuck it in the left corner to give the Ravens a comfortable 3-0 lead.  

Breaking Down the Stats: 

  • Younes Addar picked up his team-leading and conference-leading 19th goal of the season.  

  • Alvaro Rey Mira picked up his team-leading 8th assist of the season.  

  • Jett Barbic (Williston, Vt.) earned the win in net (2-0-1), making 3 saves.  

 

NEXT FOR THE RAVENS:  The Ravens will square off against the 4th seeded Post University Eagles on November 30th at 4PM on Sodexo Field in Rindge, New Hampshire.
