Men's Soccer Collects Third United Soccer Coaches East Region Coaching Staff of the Year Honor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (12/2/22) - For the third straight season, the coaching staff of the Franklin Pierce University men's soccer team were selected as the East Region's Coaching Staff of the Year by United Soccer Coaches, per the official announcement on Friday December, 2nd by the organization offices. Each year, the United Soccer Coaches hand out the regional Coaching Staff of the Year honors across all three NCAA divisions and the NAIA, for both men's and women's soccer.

The Ravens' staff, along with the opposing 25 men's honorees, will all receive recognition for their efforts at the College Coaches Awards Ceremony at the United Soccer Coaches Convention on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Led by head coach Ruben Resendes, Franklin Pierce's coaching staff also featured the likes of associate head coach Brendan Pacheco, and assistants Andres Martins, Dominik MachadoJoseph Sylvestre '22 and David Walsh.

This season, the staff has set their sights on the ultimate prize in collegiate soccer, as the Ravens approach the NCAA Championship Final on Saturday afternoon in Seattle. The Ravens powered there way to the top of the standings after posting a 24-0-1 mark, claiming both the Northeast-10 Conference regular season and tournament titles, and have pummeled opponents in every way throughout the NCAA Tournament. Franklin Pierce has been ranked as high as No. 1 in the country this fall, and is on the cusp of their first National Title since 2007.

Resendes and his staff will also be considered for National Coaching Staff of the Year accolades, alongside all regional Staff of the Year recipients from each of the other seven NCAA Division II regions.

Men's Soccer faces No.2 Colorado State-Pueblo in the Nation title game on Saturday, beginning at 3:00 p.m.
