RINDGE, N.H. (10/4/22) - The Franklin Pierce University men's soccer squad scored early and often in the first half of action, defeating the Saint Anselm College Hawks on Tuesday evening, 4-0, at Sodexo Field.

The Ravens continue their regulation success and move to 12-0-1 (5-0-1 NE10) on the season, as the Hawks slip to 6-5-0 (3-3-0 NE10) following the road loss.

It didn't take long for the number two ranked Franklin Pierce Ravens as they scored early in the first half as at the ten-minute mark, on a corner kick, Jonas Cervera Anchel (Chiva, Spain) lofted a cross perfectly for Rodrigo Vaza (Torres Verdes, Portugal) who precisely headed the ball into the net to give the Ravens an early 1-0 lead. It wasn't long as just two minutes later Vicente Valor Martinez (San Juan, Spain) on a set piece, crossed it in for the leaping Addar with his header finding the back of the net extending their lead to 2-0.

The Ravens would continue to put the ball in the net as at the twenty-seven-minute mark, Braudilio Rodrigues (Lisbon, Portugal) moved to his left and crossed it in the box and after a deflection off Hawks defender Michael Provenzano, Jonas Anchel pursued the ball and was able to put it in added another goal for the Ravens. And finally, with under ten minutes left in the first half, Jonas Anchel passed the ball across the box to Braudilio Rodrigues who netted his 13th goal of the season in the lower right corner of the net, giving the Ravens a 4-0 lead.

Through the first half the Ravens dominated in shots, holding a 9-0 shots on goal advantage over the Hawks. However, the second half brought some more balanced action as both sides had equal opportunities to notch more goals, resulting in a stalemate.  By the final whistle, the Ravens outshot the Hawks 25-2 along with 8 total corners.

Kosta Maniatis (9-0-1) got the start in goal, and did not record a save before being subbed out for junior netminder Karl Vernet (Miami, FL), who recorded 2 total saves for the Ravens.  Brain Underhill (6-5) started in net for the Hawks faced 16 shots on goal and made 12 saves adding on to his NE10 lead in saves.

The Ravens will hit the road this Saturday, October 8th for a rematch of last season's Northeast-10 Championship game, where they will face AIC with kickoff at 3:30 pm.
