RINDGE, N.H (10/01/2022) - Franklin Pierce men's soccer started the month of October off right with an out-of-conference victory over the Dominican University (N.Y.) Chargers 3-0 on a seasonable night at Sodexo Field.

With the win, Franklin Pierce picked up their ninth shutout of the season, moving to 11-0-1 (5-0-1 NE10), and they remain undefeated on their home turf. With the loss, Dominican University will fall to 1-7-3 (0-5-1 CACC). The Chargers have lost five straight games, with their last win having come on the road against the University of New Haven 2-1 on September 3rd.

The Ravens held complete control in the first half, as they peppered Dominican rookie goalkeeper David Arteaga with a 17-0 shots advantage. In the 18th minute, Younes Addar (Castellon, Spain) opened the scoring with his fifth goal of the season on a header, courtesy of a pass from Miguel Secades Rodrigues (Langreo, Spain) who picked up his third assist of the season. For the Ravens, Addar has scored four goals in across his last five games.

In the 40th minute, sophomore Braudilio Rodrigues (Lisbon, Portugal) received a great feed from Secades Rodrigues, and sent a long shot that bounced off of Arteaga's hand, netting his 11th goal of the season to make it 2-0 Ravens.

Entering the second half with the comfortable 2-0 cushion, the Ravens picked up right where they left off from the first half with a 12-1 shots advantage over the Chargers. In the 74th minute, Rodrigues added some insurance with his second goal of the contest, converting on a cross pass inside the box from midfielder Marc Lopez (Valencia, Spain) securing the eventual winning lead of 3-0.

Through the match, the Ravens dominated the Chargers in shots at 29-1. Senior keeper Javier Torres (Langreo, Spain) got his second start in net this season, making one save in the victory for his first career shutout. Rodrigues, who's 12 goals continues to lead the Northeast-10 Conference, has scored five times in his last three games.

Franklin Pierce will be back at Sodexo Field on Tuesday, October 4th, as they will face St. Anslem in an in-state rivalry with kickoff at 7 p.m. under the lights.
