NEW HAVEN, Conn. (9/28/22) – Sophomore forward Braudilio Rodrigues (Lisbon, Portugal) registered his third multi-goal performance of the season, leading Franklin Pierce men's soccer past Southern Connecticut State University 3-0 in a Northeast-10 matchup on Wednesday evening.

With the win, men's soccer remains unbeaten in regulation and is now 10-0-1 (5-0-1 NE10) on the season. The Owls slip to 4-3-2 (1-2-1 NE10) with the home loss.

A strong first half outlined the effort for the Ravens, scoring the first of two goals in the 24th minute of action off a shot by junior midfielder Vicente Valor Martinez (San Juan, Spain), his second of the season. Just over ten minutes later, Rodrigues netted his first of the night with a blistering shot to the bottom right corner of the goal, bringing the Ravens into the second half with a 2-0 lead.

Rodrigues returned for his conference leading 10th goal of the year in the 62nd minute of the second frame, calling game-set-match with a penalty kick goal after senior defender Aitor Aguado (Getxo, Spain) was taken down directly in front of the Owl net on a Raven corner. Through the match, the Ravens outshot the Owls 19-2

Goalkeeper Kosta Maniatis (Montreal, Quebec) manned the net for the full 90 minutes, picking up his ninth win and fifth shutout of the year.

Men's soccer returns home to Sodexo Field this Saturday, October 1st where they will face non-conference opponent Dominican (N.Y.) at 7 p.m.
