Addar Nets A Pair, Men's Soccer Blanks Post University 2-0

RINDGE, N.H. (9/3/22) – Senior forward Younnes Addar (Castellon, Spain) provided the offense with a pair of goals for Franklin Pierce men's soccer, as the Ravens silenced Post University 2-0 on Saturday evening at Sodexo Field.

Franklin Pierce remains perfect to start the year, moving to 4-0-0 on the season following the victory, with shut outs in three of their first four contests. With the loss, Post slips to 1-2-0 on the season.

Addar cashed in on his first of the season off a free kick in the 25th minute, following contact made on a drive by Braudillio Rodrigues (Lisbon, Portugal), drawing a yellow card in the process. The kick was placed directly in front by Jonas Cervera Anchel (Chiva, Spain), who collected the assist after the kick found its way home on the redirection by Addar. The Ravens would add another three shots before the end of the half, and would finish with a 10-5 advantage over the Eagles.

After a mostly defensive battle in the second frame, the eventual game winner came in the 83rd minute off of a steal turned fast-break attack down the field, catching the Eagle defenders out of position. From the steal, a long stretch pass found Rodrigues and Cervera Anchel up the left side, who then drew off the defenders and fed the pass to Addar for a shot low corner, finalizing the score at 2-0.

Kosta Maniatis (Montreal, Quebec) started in goal for the Ravens, completing the full ninety minutes with three saves to secure the win for Franklin Pierce, and securing his third shutout of the season.

Men's soccer concludes their current homestand on Tuesday, September 6th as the Ravens welcome the University of Bridgeport to Sodexo Field for a 6PM kickoff.
