HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Greyhounds took control of the game early scoring within the first minute of play with Brady McNulty drawing first blood. The Ravens responded by scoring one of their own at the twelve and a half mark with Jackson Hale (Kensington, N.H.) being the marksman. Three minutes later Nolan Johnson would take advantage of the man up and score to put the Greyhounds ahead once again. The ball would fall to Ben McHugh at the 3-minute mark who would slot the ball in the back of the net to put the Greyhounds ahead by 2. 2 minutes later Cameron Theriault would score one more for the Greyhounds to close out the quarter 4-1.
The Greyhound domination would continue in the second quarter with Assumption scoring 5 unanswered goals. The first came from Brian Shortt who scored after one minute of play. Ryan Boger and Colby Bailey-Gates followed by scoring two of their own during the eight-minute mark. Boomer Staunton scored with one and half minutes remaining in the quarter before Ryan Boger scored one last one to finish up the half with the Greyhounds ahead 9-1. - Despite the halftime break, the Greyhounds came out with the same energy and intensity as they had in the first half with Brady McNulty scoring yet again within the first minute. The rest of the quarter was quiet for both teams with excellent displays of goaltending from keepers Mike Masterpolo (Kingston, MA) and Shane Corcoran. In spite of these performances Ryan Boger would get the better of Masterpolo and score his second of the game with 3 minutes to play and put the 3rd quarter to bed with a score of 11-1 in favor of the Greyhounds.
Unfortunately for the Ravens the fourth and final quarter followed the same story as that of the first 3. Nolan Johnson would score for the Greyhounds a minute and half into the final quarter with Brady McNulty completing his hattrick a minute later to keep the Greyhounds ahead 13-1. However, the Ravens would have the last word of the game when Aidan Gibbons (Billerica, MA) broke through the Greyhound defense in the tenth minute and riffled the ball into the net scoring the Ravens second goal and ended the game with the final score of 13-2.
