Saint Anselm Handles Franklin Pierce, 19-1

RINDGE, N.H. (April 13, 2005) - The Franklin Pierce men's lacrosse team sustained a 19-1 setback versus Saint Anselm College tonight in Northeast-10 Conference action at Sodexho Field.

Freshman John Ortolani (Billerica, Mass./Billerica) led the way with five points on a hat trick and two assists for the Hawks. Classmates Mike Humphreys (Rocky Hill, Conn./Xavier) and Steve Trocki (Braintree, Mass./B.C. High) totaled three points apiece. Humphreys netted a hat trick, while Trocki tallied twice and dished out one assist.

Junior captain Nick Cowden (Marblehead, Mass./Marblehead) scored the lone goal for the Ravens.

Saint Anselm's sophomore goalkeeper Andrew Roy (Westford, Mass./Westford Academy) saved two shots en route to his seventh win of the year. Freshmen netminder Freeman Scott (Farmington, Maine/Mt. Blue) made 11 saves in a losing effort for Franklin Pierce.

The Ravens (0-6, 0-5 NE-10) will travel to Pace University on Saturday for a Northeast-10 Conference tilt starting at 1:00 p.m. Saint Anselm (7-4, 3-3 NE-10) will host the University of Southern New Hampshire for a league game on Monday at 3:30 p.m.
