Bentley Beats Franklin Pierce, 16-3

WALTHAM, MASS. (April 3, 2002) - The Franklin Pierce men's lacrosse team fell to Bentley College, 16-3, in Northeast-10 Conference action this evening.

Bentley senior James Rogan totaled seven goals to lead the Falcons offense. Freshman Nick Slottje finished with three goals and dished two assists, while sophomores James Thibadeau and Brad Simas each chipped in a pair of goals.

Sophomore Jimmy Ward (Lynn, Mass./Lynn Classical) netted twoof Franklin Pierce's markers to lead the Ravens, while newcomer Nate Snow (Salem, Mass./Salem) scored one.

Franklin Pierce goalkeeper, Andy Cote (Middleton, Mass./ Masconomet) made a season-high 32 saves in 60:00 minutes in net. Freshman Andrew Hartig made three saves in 15:00 minutes of work before giving way to classmate Brian Nash, who made two saves in 15:00 to close out the first half. Sophomore James Hale made three saves in the final 30:00 minutes of regulation.

The Ravens (0-3, 0-2 NE-10) return to action on Saturday when they take on Merrimack College in Worcester, Mass. for a Northeast-10 Conference matchup at 11 a.m. Bentley (1-3, 1-0 NE-10) will next travel to Southern New Hampshire University on Saturday for a League matchup at 1 p.m.
