Men's Ice Hockey: Ravens Strike Early but Fall to Arcadia 4-3

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • The Ravens got it started early at the three-minute mark with pressure in front of Knights goaltender Burgess where Trevor Lawler (East Bridgewater, Mass.) poked one by him to give the Ravens an early lead.  

  • Ravens got the next goal halfway through the first period when an errant pass from the Knights went to the stick of Brendan Spinale (Canton, Mass.) who notched his first Raven and Collegiate goal making it 2-0 Ravens.  

  • The Knights would answer in the second period at the six-minute mark as Dylan Florit netted it past Raven goaltender Max Bonoun (Alpine, N.J.) making it 2-1. 

  • The Knights would equalize two minutes later off the stick of Cody Mastay past Bonoun making it 2-2.  

  • At the 12-minute mark, Peyton Jones (Austin, TX) had a loose puck out in front of the net and was able to finish it giving the lead back to the Ravens, 3-2.  

  • The Knights were able to tie the score again at 3 to start the third period scoring thanks to Mike Kocsis.  

  • Half-way through the third period the Knights would get their first lead of the game from Drew Iannucci to pull the Knights ahead 4-3.  

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS: 

  • Max Bonoun made 38 saves on 42 shots faced. Ryan Burgess made 40 saves on 43 shots faced.  

  • Ravens were outshot 71 to 64.  

  • The Ravens were 0-3 on the power play while the Knights were 1-5. 

NEXT UP FOR THE RAVENS: 

  • The Ravens close the year on the road as they still face the Knights of Acadia Saturday at 3:30 pm as they look to even up the weekend series.
