RINDGE, N.H. (3/21/23) – Senior forward Connor Foley (Nahant, Mass.), who recently claimed top-honors from the Northeast-10 Conference as Men's Ice Hockey Player of the Year, is also receiving consideration for the prestigious American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) 2022-23 Sid Watson Award.

Foley joins a list of seventeen total finalists from across the country, 12 of whom additionally received Player of the Year accolades from their respective leagues.

The 2023 Sid Watson Award is bestowed annually to the top NCAA Division II-III men's ice hockey player in the nation, and honors the late memory of Sid Watson, a former Bowdoin College head coach and athletic director. Watson was a three-time AHCA Coach of the Year,  and served as Bowdoin's bench boss for over than 30 years.

Foley finished the 2022-23 campaign as the Northeast-10 Conference's leader in points scored, registering 39 in total behind a team-leading 16 goals and a second-ranked 18 assists. Foley's +5 rating was also good for the team-lead, along with his seven goals scored on the man-advantage. Foley additionally moved into second all-time in career goals scored (44) and career points (95), and ranks third all-time in assists (51).

In addition to earning Player of the Year honors from the NE10, Foley was also named a semifinalist for the Gridiron Club of Greater Boston's 22nd Joe Concannon Award.

Pierce men's hockey witnessed an up-and-down type of season in 2022-23, finishing the slate with an 11-20-2 overall record. In the quarterfinal round of the Northeast-10 Championship, Pierce earned a hard-fought, 3-1 victory over Southern New Hampshire University, bringing them to the semifinals for the first time since the 2019-20 season. However, their run was halted in that round at the hands of eventual champion Saint Anselm College by a 5-0 final.
