Sweeney Sweeney earned Northeast-10 Player of the Week honors for the fourth time in his career.

RINDGE, N.H. (February 26, 2013) – Senior forward and co-captain Roscoe Sweeney (Falmouth, Mass.) of the Franklin Pierce University men's ice hockey team has been named Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week for the week ending on Feb. 24, as announced Tuesday by the Conference office.

Sweeney led the offense on Saturday night as the team procured the first postseason victory in program history with a 5-3 win in the semifinal round of the Northeast-10 Championship over Southern New Hampshire. Sweeney finished off a 2-on-1 down low in the third period for what would eventually stand as the game-winning goal, and also dished out two assists to give himself a three-point night. It was his seventh multiple-point game of the season, as well as the 25th of his career. It was Sweeney's ninth career game of three or more points, and his first such outing since Feb. 8, 2011 at University of New England.

On the season, Sweeney is the team's leading scoring with 24 points on eight goals and 16 assists. He has two game-winning goals, two power-play goals and one game-tying goal. Sweeney is the first Raven in school history to top 90 career points (37-54-91) and currently has a two-point lead over teammate Anthony Chighisola for the program's all-time record.

The second-seeded Ravens (9-12-3) wrap up the 2012-13 campaign on Saturday, March 2, when they travel to top-seeded Saint Anselm for the title game of the Northeast-10 Championship. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Sullivan Arena in Manchester, N.H.
