RINDGE, N.H. (February 22,
2010) – Senior forward Phil LaBreck
(Thornton, N.H.) of the Franklin Pierce University ice
hockey team has been named to the Northeast-10 Conference Weekly
Honor Roll for the week ending on Feb. 21, as announced Monday by
the conference office.
LaBreck tallied a goal and an assist in Franklin Pierce’s
4-3, overtime victory at home over Stonehill on Saturday night. His
goal was the game-winner in overtime on Senior Night, as he slipped
the puck into the net after being sprung on a partial breakaway by
a pass from Anthony Chighisola. Earlier in the
game, LaBreck provided an assist on a first-period goal by
Roscoe Sweeney.
On the season, LaBreck ranks third on the team and is tied for 15th
in the Northeast-10 with 21 points on 11 goals and 10 assists,
while playing in all 24 games. Saturday’s goal was his second
game-winning goal of the season, and he also has two power-play
goals and one shorthanded tally. LaBreck is one of three Ravens,
along with Chighisola (17-17—34) and Sweeney
(12-18—30), to reach the 20-point mark this season. In
addition, Saturday night’s win was Franklin Pierce’s
seventh of the season, which set a new program record.
The Ravens (7-14-2, 4-6-1 Northeast-10) return to the ice on
Saturday, Feb. 27 in the quarterfinal round of the Northeast-10
Conference Championship. Franklin Pierce’s opponent and the
site of the game are yet to be determined. Check
