Schneider Earns Northeast-10 All-Academic Honors
Stony Point, N.Y., native named to All-Academic First Team
RINDGE, N.H. (February 13, 2007) - Franklin Pierce men's ice hockey sophomore Coursen Schneider (Stony Point, N.Y./Avon Old Farms) was named to the Northeast-10 Conference All-Academic First team by the Conference office on Monday. The team is selected by the Sports Information Directors of the Northeast-10. Candidates are chosen based on their performances both on and off the field.
Schneider receives his first Northeast-10 Academic honor after achieving a cumulative 3.85 grade point average while majoring in psychology. The Franklin Pierce forward has played in 19 games this season, totaling 11 points on five goals and six assists. He has registered one multi-goal game this year, leading the Ravens to a 4-3 victory over Assumption College (11/15).
The two year starter has played in 41games throughout his career, tallying 19 points on seven goals and 12 assists. During a solid rookie season, Schneider made his mark by ranking second among all newcomers with eight total points on two goals and six assists.
Franklin Pierce (5-14-2, 1-3-0 NE-10, 1-10-2 ECAC NE) will be in action again tomorrow as it hosts Plymouth State College at 7 p.m.
