Reynolds Earns Weekly Honors

Wallingford, Pa. native named Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week and ECAC Northeast Rookie of the Week

RINDGE, N.H. (Jan. 10, 2005) - Franklin Pierce freshman Ben Reynolds (Wallingford, Pa./Green Mountain Glades) was named the Northeast-10 Conference ice hockey Freshman of the Week by the Conference office on Monday for the first time of his career. He was also named ECAC Northeast Rookie of the Week for the first time on Tuesday. In three games last week, he totaled five points on three goals and two assists.

Reynolds netted a season-best two goals on Saturday, leading the Ravens to a 3-2 win over Western New England. He also figured in on both Franklin Pierce goals in their 8-2 loss at Saint Anselm on Monday, scoring one and assisting on the other. On Wednesday, he added an assist in the Ravens 7-5 loss versus Fitchburg State.

For the season, Reynolds has 11 points, good for second on the team. He has a team-leading four goals to go along with seven assists. His two power play goals are also tops on the club. Reynolds ranks third amongst freshman in the Northeast-10 with 1.10 points per game.

Franklin Pierce (4-6-0, 1-3-0 NE-10, 3-5-0 ECAC NE) will take the ice again tonight, when they travel to Johnson and Wales for an ECAC Northeast Conference clash beginning at 6:00 p.m.
