Men's, Women's Golf to Participate in NCAA DII Atlantic/East Regional Championship Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (5/2/23) – Per the official announcement from the NCAA organization offices, both the Franklin Pierce men's and women's golf programs were selected as participants in the upcoming 2023 NCAA Division II East Regional Golf Championships.

The men's side, selected out of a field of 80 teams, enters the tournament's No. 7 seed, and will return to the Par-72, 7026-yard Iron Valley Golf Club in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, and host Millersville University for their segment of the regional. It is their third consecutive appearance in the regional tournament.

Per the official release from the NCAA, "the top three finishing teams and the top two student-athletes not with a team from each regional will advance to the finals, May 22nd-26th at Avalon Lakes in Warren, Ohio. The remaining eight team berths will be allocated based on the regions represented in the prior year's head-to-head medal play portion of the championships, with the maximum number of teams from a given region capped at seven. The finals will be hosted by the Mountain East Conference and Avalon Lakes at The Grand Resort."

The Franklin Pierce women's squad joins the most populated regional field this year as the 13th seed of 15 selected teams in the East. This season, the women's regional will take place at the 7,256-yard, Par-72 Panther Creek Golf Club in Springfield, Illinois, and will be hosted by the University of Illinois-Springfield. Fresh off their fourth-consecutive Northeast-10 Championship title, the Pierce women also enter the tournament field for the third straight season.

Per the official release from the NCAA, "All participants will compete through the 54 holes of competition. The top three (central), five (south), four (west) and six (east) teams along with the top two individuals not on an advancing team will advance to the championships. The championships will be held May 16-20 at Fox Run Golf Club in Eureka, Missouri. The number of participants that qualify for the finals is 98 competitors."
