NCAA Men's Golf Championship selections

INDIANAPOLIS (April 25, 2022) -- For the fifth straight season, and the sixth time in program history, the Franklin Pierce University men's golf program is headed to the NCAA Championships. The Ravens were selected as the ninth seed in the East Region, as announced on Friday afternoon by the NCAA, and will travel to Victor, N.Y., for the Atlantic/East Regional. Competition is slated for May 5-7 at Ravenwood Golf Club, and Le Moyne College will serve as the host institution.

The Ravens take the region's ninth seed after an up-and-down season with a young squad which has been searching for consistency throughout the year. In the fall, Franklin Pierce took sixth at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship, but also finished as low as 10th of 14 teams at the Post Invitational and tied-11th of 16 at the Le Moyne Invitational. The team has really come around at the back end of the spring season, with back-to-back strong performances to see its way into NCAAs. The Ravens finished seventh of 23 in a loaded NCAA Regional Preview field at Le Moyne in early April, and followed up a week later with a second-of-11 showing at the Yellow Jacket Invitational.

Six of the 10 spots in the East Region went to NE10 schools, as the Ravens will be joined in central New York by top-seeded Southern New Hampshire, second seed and host Le Moyne, fifth-seeded Assumption, eighth-seeded Bentley and 10th-seeded Saint Anselm. Assumption earned the league's automatic berth after claiming the NE10 Championship in the fall, while the other five schools all received at-large bids.

Rounding out the East Region field are third-seeded St. Thomas Aquinas, fourth-seeded Post, sixth-seeded Godley-Beacom and seventh-seeded Wilmington (Del.). The 10-team East Region will be joined by 10 teams from the Atlantic Region to make up the Atlantic/East Regional.

Three other regional sites across the country will feature 20 teams apiece as well. The top three teams at each regional site, plus eight at-large berths, will advance to the NCAA Championship National Finals, which will take place on May 16-20 at TPC Michigan in Detroit. The Ravens advanced to the National Finals in 2018.
