NCAA Men's Golf Championship selections

INDIANAPOLIS (April 23, 2021) - For the fourth straight season, and the fifth time in program history, the Franklin Pierce University men’s golf program is headed to the NCAA Championships. The Ravens were selected as the third seed in the East Region, as announced on Friday afternoon by the NCAA, and will travel to North East, Pa., for the Atlantic/East Regional. Competition is slated for May 6-8 at Lake View Country Club, and Mercyhurst University will serve as the host institution.

The Ravens take the region’s third seed after a spring season in which they finished lower than third only once. Most recently, Franklin Pierce used a second-place finish from sophomore Michael Sosik (Fiskdale, Mass.) to lead the way to a program-best tied-second finish at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship earlier this week.

Five of the eight spots in the East Region went to NE10 schools, as the Ravens will be joined in the Keystone State by second-seeded Bentley, fourth-seeded Le Moyne, fifth-seeded Assumption and sixth-seeded Southern New Hampshire. Le Moyne claimed the league’s automatic berth after claiming the NE10 Championship title on Tuesday, while the other four schools all received at-large bids.

Rounding out the East Region field are top-seeded St. Thomas Aquinas, seventh-seeded Concordia (N.Y.) and eighth-seeded Dominican (N.Y.). The eight-team East Region will be joined by eight teams from the Atlantic Region to make up the Atlantic/East Regional.

Three other regional sites across the country will feature 16 teams apiece as well. The top four teams at each regional site will advance to the NCAA Championship National Finals, which will take place on May 17-21 at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. The Ravens advanced to the National Finals in 2018.
