Plis Highlights Men's Golf All-Conference Selections, Myers and Patterson Named to Second Team

MANSFIELD, Mass. (April 9, 2020)  For the first time in the history of the Northeast-10 Conference, no. 11 regionally-ranked Franklin Pierce University women's golfer Jinnapat Rittawee (Kanchanaburi, Thailand) was chosen as the NE10 Player and Rookie of the Year it was announced Wednesday afternoon after a collection of votes by the leagues' head coaches. 

Rittawee's Player of the Year selection marks the third time a Raven golfer has achieved that honor (Camden Morrison - 2016-17 & 2017-18). It is also the second Rookie of the Year award for the women's golf program (Zoey Yamamoto – 2016-17). For her efforts, Rittawee was also named to the NE10 First Team.

Three other women's golfers earned All-Conference bids. Senior Zoey Yamamoto (Honolulu, Hawaii) joined Rittawee on the First Team. Senior Taylor Hartley (Canton, Ga.) and freshman Alia Godek (Feeding Hills, Mass.) were Second Team selections. On the men's side, junior Dylan Plis (Camillus, N.Y.) highlighted the men's team being named to the All-League First Team. Seniors Nate Patterson (Conway, Mass.) and Sam Myers (Colchester, Vt.) rounded out the Raven selections with Second Team honors.

Rittawee was a member of the NE10 All-Championship Team, the NE10 Individual Champion, a three-time Player of the Week and four-time Rookie of the Week. She had four individual medals in five tournaments during the fall including besting Bianca Cruz-Hernandez of Le Moyne College by two strokes in the NE10 Championship guiding Pierce to their second NE10 title. Rittawee shot a 148 (+4) in the conference tourney with five birdies and notching the programs first hole-in-one, on the 156-yard par-3 ninth hole during the second round. Her lowest two-round total was a 143 (+1) on the par 71 course during the Le Moyne Fall Invitational and her best round was a one-under, 71 during the second round at the Penmen Fall Invitational.

Yamamoto earns her fourth consecutive First Team nod. A two-time conference champion, Yamamoto had three top-10 finishes and two within the top-five during the abbreviated season. She was the runner up at the Le Moyne Fall Invitational posting a 149 (+7) scorecard, her lowest of the campaign. The senior captain followed up her second-place showing with a fourth-place finish (153, +9) at the home FPU Women's Fall Invitational at the Keene Country Club. Yamamoto produced a season-low 73 (+1) during the second round.

Hartley, an NE10 First Team member last year is a Second Team honoree this season, the two-time conference champion had her strongest rounds of the year when the automatic berth to regionals was on the line during the NE10 Championship. Hartley sank a season-low, 153 (+9) good enough for fourth place and her second straight All-Championship Team honor. In the first round, she finished 18 holes at 78 (+6) and knocked off three strokes on day two for a 75 (+3). At the FPU Women's Fall Invitational, Hartley placed eighth at158 (+14).

Godek concludes the women honored with a Second Team selection. The newcomer tied for fourth in her collegiate debut at the Saint Rose Fall Invitational producing a 159 (+15) and a season-low round 77 (+5) during her final go through the course. At the Le Moyne Fall Invitational, she placed eighth with a 163 (+21) card. She wrapped up her fall season with back-to-back ninth-place finishes at the Penmen Fall Invitational (161, +17) and the NE10 Championship (163, +19).

The no. 11 regionally-ranked women's squad took home first in all of their fall tournaments and earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals before the spring season was canceled due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.

For the no. 5 regionally-ranked men, Plis collects his second First Team choice after being a Second Team member last year. His best showing on the campaign was when he deadlocked for 12th place (221, +5) during the three-round, Penmen Fall Invitational. He opened up his rounds knocking home a 69 (-3), his lowest round of the season and followed that up with a 77 (+5) and a 75 (+3). At the Le Moyne Fall Shootout, Plis tied for 15th at 148 (+4).

Patterson wraps up his collegiate career with his second All-NE10 selection after being a Third Team member as a junior. The senior had one top-10 finish, a tie in ninth place during the rain-shortened NE10 Championship producing a team-best 73 (+1) scorecard. He tied for 12th at the Penmen Fall Invitational (221, +5) and the Le Moyne Fall Shootout (147, +3) manufacturing campaign low 72 (E) during the first and second round respectively.

Myers, like Patterson, was a Third Team choice last year and advances to the Second Team during his senior season. At the season-opening FPU Fall Invitational, Myers tied for third carrying the Ravens with a 145 (+1) card including a 70 (-2) second round at the Keene Country Club. His other top-five finish came during the Saint Rose Fall Shootout as he racked up fourth place at 145 (+3) with a 68 (-3) second-round showing guiding the Ravens to second place as a team, their highest finish of the year.
