BREWSTER, Mass. (October 28, 2013) -- The Franklin Pierce University men's golf team capped its 2013 fall season in fine fashion on Monday by carding a final round 309 (+21) to move up seven spots into a tie for seventh place out of 38 teams in the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship at The Captains Course in Brewster, Mass.

The Ravens shot a two-day total of 624 (+48), and finished as the second highest Division II school in the event, just four shots shy of Bentley (620, +44), which finished in sixth place. Division I school Central Connecticut State won the event with a two-day score of 597 (+21). Several Division I schools competed in the event, as Franklin Pierce finished ahead of six such schools classified at that level.

The highlight of final round came from sophomore Sean Shepard (Griswold, Conn.), who fired a four-over-par, 74, to jump up 56 spots from 86th to 30th in the final individual standings. His impressive 74 came just one day after carding a first-round, 81 (+9), to finish with a 36-hole score of 155 (+11).

Classmate Brad Auclair (Cumberland, R.I.) capped a consistent tournament showing on Monday by shooting a final-round, 79 (+7), to finish tied for 36th out of 189 competitors with a two-day score of 156 (+12). The 79 came just one day after he carded a strong 77 (+5).

Junior Stew Wise (Angiers, N.C.) was the third Raven to finish among the top-40 of the individual standings as he, too, made a huge jump up the ladder after shooting a final round 77 to leap from 65th to 36th from round one to round two. Wise's 77 followed his seven-over, 79, in Sunday's opening round.

Sophomore Nick Adjutant (Rochester, N.H.) jumped from 110th to 81st in the final standings after firing a 79 on Monday to finish with a two-round score of 162 (+18). Adjutant also won the closest to the pin competition during the tournament.

Senior Adam Spencer (Jericho, Vt.) was the fifth Raven to compete in the tournament, as he finished 104th after shooting an 86 during the final round, and finishing with a two-day total of 164.
