Golf Sits in the Lead Following Day One of SNHU Penmen Invitational; Brad Auclair in First Place
All five Ravens among the top-six of the individual standings

CANTERBURY, N.H. (September 24, 2012) -- The Franklin Pierce University golf team carded a 21-over-par, 309, on Monday to sit in first place following the day one of the SNHU Penmen Invitational held at the Canterbury Woods Country Club in Canterbury, N.H.
All five Ravens golfers sit in the top six of the individual standings following the first round, including freshman Brad Auclair (Cumberland, R.I.), who shot a 75 (+3) to hold the individual lead after 18 holes.
Sophomore Stew Wise (Angiers, N.C.) is in a three-way tie for second place, and one stroke back of the lead entering Tuesday's final round, as he shot a four-over, 76, on Monday.
Three Ravens are in a five-way tie for sixth place and will head into the final 18 holes on Tuesday just four strokes off the lead at +7 (79). The three Ravens who carded 79's on Monday included senior co-captains Ian Landry (Loudon, N.H.) and Ricky Gray (Jaffrey, N.H.), and freshman Sean Shepard (Griswold, Conn.).
Franklin Pierce is six shots ahead of the nearest competitor going into the final round as the Ravens will look to clinch the team title on Tuesday. Host-school Southern New Hampshire is second after carding a 315 (+27) on Monday, while Saint Anselm (+33, 321), Saint Michael's (+42, 330) and Saint Rose (+44, 332) follow in third, fourth and fifth place, respectively. Tuesday's final round will tee off at 9 a.m.
