Golf Finishes Ninth at Northeast Intercollegiate Championship

Ravens return to action next week at SNHU Invitational

RESULTS

BERLIN, Conn. (September 17, 2012) -- The Franklin Pierce University golf team finished in ninth place Monday at the Northeast Intercollegiate Championship, held at the Timberlin Country Club in Berlin, Conn. The Ravens shot a final round, 325 (+37), to finish the two-day tournament with a total score of 647 (+71).

UMass-Lowell won the tournament with a score of 611 (+35), while host-school Post University followed in second with a 618 (+42).

Franklin Pierce was led by freshman golfer Brad Auclair (Cumberland, R.I.), who finished tied for 23rd after he shot a second round 81 (+9) to finish with a total score of 160 (+16).

He was followed by sophomore Stew Wise (Angiers, N.C.) and freshman Sean Shepard (Griswold, Conn.), as both golfers tied for 30th with two-round scores of 162 (+18). Wise shot a final round 81, while Shepard carded an 82 (+10). 

Senior co-captains Ricky Gray (Jaffrey, N.H.) and Ian Landry (Loudon, N.H.) were the other two Ravens to compete in the tournament, as Gray finished 35th with a 20-over-par, 164, while Landry followed in 45th with a 169 (+25). 

Franklin Pierce returns to action next Monday and Tuesday when the Ravens compete in the SNHU Penmen Invitational, which will be held at the Canterbury Woods Country Club in Manchester.
