Golf Finishes Fifth out of 17 Teams in Worcester on Tuesday
Shepard & Adjutant each card a 79 on Tuesday
SUTTON, Mass. (April 23, 2013) -- The Franklin Pierce
University golf team carded a 40-over-par, 328, to finish fifth out
of 17 teams on Tuesday at the Rich Korzec Memorial Invitational at
Blackstone National Golf Course in Sutton, Mass.
Western New England won the tournament with a 309 (+21), while Rhode Island College finished runner-up with a 322 (+34).
Freshmen Sean Shepard (Griswold, Conn.) and Nick Adjutant (Rochester, N.H.) both turned in the best finish of the day for the Ravens as they each shot a seven-over, 79, to tie for 13th place in the individual standings. Shepard competed for the Ravens' starting five, while Adjutant was an individual competitor in the field.
Senior Ian Landry (Loudon, N.H.) followed with an 82 (+10) to tie for 23rd, while freshman Brad Auclair (Cumberland, R.I.) carded an 83 (+11) to tie for 29th.
Junior Adam Spencer (Jericho, Vt.) tied for 35th with an 84 (+12), while senior Ricky Gray (Jaffrey, N.H.) shot an 86 (+14) to tie for 44th.
Franklin Pierce closes out its 2013 spring season on Wednesday when
the Ravens play host to the FPU Spring Invitational at Bretwood
Country Club in Keene, N.H. The tournament will tee off at 12
p.m.
