Golf Sits in 12th Place After Day One of Mike Bello Invitational

BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. (April 14, 2013) -- The Franklin Pierce University golf team shot a 327 (+39) on Sunday and sits in 12th place out of 17 teams following the first day of the Mike Bello Invitational, hosted by Le Moyne College, at the Timber Banks Golf Course in Baldwinsville, N.Y.

Bentley sits in first following 18 holes as the Falcons fired a one-under-par 287. Concordia follows in second as it also had an outstanding first round by shooting a 290 (+2).

The Ravens were led by senior Ricky Gray (Jaffrey, N.H.), who shot an 80 (+8) to hold down a tie for 40th place heading into Monday's final round. 

A pair of freshmen, Sean Shepard (Griswold, Conn.) and Brad Auclair (Cumberland, R.I.), followed with scores of 81 (+9) and 82 (+10), respectively. Shepard is tied for 48th, while Auclair is six places back with a tie for 54th.

Senior Ian Landry (Loudon, N.H.) is tied for 66th after he shot an 84 (+12), while junior Adam Spencer (Jericho, Vt.) was the fifth Raven to golf on the afternoon as he shot a 93 (+21) to tie for 86th place.

The final round of the Bello Invitational will begin at 8 a.m. on Monday.
