TOURNAMENT RESULTS

DRACUT, Mass. (April 15, 2012) -- The Franklin Pierce University golf team carded a two-round score of 615 (+55) and turned in a solid fourth-place showing out of 11 teams this weekend at the River Hawk Invitational on the Meadow Creek Golf Course in Dracut, Mass.

Host-school UMass-Lowell fired a 42-over-par, 602, to finish in first place, while American International and Bentley each carded a 611 (+51) to finish in a tie for second.

The Ravens were led in the tournament by freshman C.J. Konkowski (West Chesterfield, N.H.), who shot a nine-over-par, 149, during the two rounds to finish in sole possession of eighth place. It marked the second-consecutive tournament Konkowski finished in the top-10 of the individual standings as he lost in a sudden death playoff at last weekend's FPU Spring Invitational. Konkowski finished just nine shots off the pace, as Bentley's Matt Michel won the River Hawk with a two-round total of 140 (E). Konkowski fired a four-over, 74, in the first round on Saturday, and then carded a five-over, 75, in Sunday's final round.

Junior Ian Landry (Loudon, N.H.) finished in a two-way tie for 11th as he shot a 12-over, 152, for the tournament, including carding a 75 (+5) on Saturday and a 77 (+7) on Sunday.

Senior co-captain Brian Fleckles (Sandwich, Mass.) was the Ravens other golfer to finish in the top-20 of the individual standings as he tied for 19th with a 156 (+16). Fleckles posted matching 78's (+8) on Saturday and Sunday.

Sophomore Adam Spencer (Jericho, Vt.) and senior co-captain B.J. Powers (Southbury, Conn.) each tied for 31st as both posted a 161 (+21). Spencer carded a solid 77 (+7) on Saturday, but stumbled in the final round by shooting a 14-over 84. Powers posted a 10-over, 80, in the first round and then shot an 81 (+11) on Sunday.

Franklin Pierce returns to action on Monday and Tuesday as the Ravens compete in the AIC/NE-10 Invitational at the Ludlow Country Club in Ludlow, Mass.
