The Ravens shot a first-round 38-over-par, 326, on Monday. Franklin Pierce is ahead of 16 other teams in the field, including Division I school and Big East member Providence College.

Senior Justin Haapala (Danielson, Conn.) was the fifth Ravens' golfer to compete on the afternoon and he shot a 12-over-par, 84, to finish in a tie for 113th place.

The University of Rhode Island, a Division I-member in the Atlantic-10 Conference, stands in first place following the first round after shooting a nine-over-par, 297, while Central Connecticut State and the University of Connecticut are tied for second with identical 12-over-par, 300s.

The final round of the NEIGA Championship will begin Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. at The Captains. It will mark the final round of the fall season for the Ravens during the 2010-11 season.
