Golf Finishes 6th at Elms Invitational; Freshman Adam Spencer Cards Top-10 Finish in Individual Standings

Adam Spencer earns first collegiate top-10 finish

RESULTS

WESTOVER, Mass. (April 22, 2011) – The Franklin Pierce University golf team placed sixth out of seven teams at the 2011 Elms College Blazers Invitational on Thursday at the Westover Country Club in Westover, Mass. The Ravens shot a 70-over-par, 358, during the tournament, while host-school Elms won the event with a 320 (+32).

Freshman Adam Spencer (Jericho, Vt.) was the highest Ravens finisher on the afternoon as he carded an impressive score of 84 (+12) to finish in a tie for ninth. It marked the first top-10 finish of his collegiate career.

Junior Matthew Lennon (Bow, N.H.) and sophomore Richard Gray (Jaffrey, N.H.) each finished in a tie for 27th after they shot 18-over-par, 90s.

Sophomores Jeff Gloshinski (Worcester, Mass.) and Tyler Merrill (Litchfield, N.H.) finished in 32nd and 35th, respectively, after they shot 94 (+22) and 101 (+29) during the tournament.

Franklin Pierce returns to action on Tuesday when the Ravens conclude the 2010-11 season by playing host to the FPU Spring Invitational at The Shattuck in Jaffrey, N.H. The tournament will begin at 12 p.m.
