Men's Golf Tabbed 12th in Northeast-10 Preseason Poll
NE-10 Championship to be held on Oct. 4-5
RINDGE, N.H. (September 24, 2009) – The
Franklin Pierce University men’s golf team was picked to
finish 12th in the Northeast-10 Conference, according to the
league’s preseason poll which was announced on Thursday. The
poll was voted on by the league’s 12 head coaches prior to
the start of the fall season. The 2009 Northeast-10 Conference
Men’s Golf Championship will be held on Oct. 4-5, at the
Crumpin-Fox Golf Club in Bernardston, Mass.
Le Moyne was picked to repeat as league champions as it came in
first place with 134 points and five first-place votes.
UMass-Lowell (112 points, 2 first-place votes) and American
International (104 points) rounded out the top three in second and
third place, respectively.
Franklin Pierce has already competed in three tournaments this
season, with its highest finish being a second-place effort at the
Blazers Invitational on Sept. 15 at Chicopee Country Club in
Chicopee, Mass. Sophomore Brian Fleckles (Sandwich,
Mass.) led the Ravens that day as he tied for second in
the individual competition with a round of 76.
Franklin Pierce will have one final tune-up before the conference
championship, when it takes part in the Blazers II Invitational
next Wednesday in Chicopee.
