RINDGE, N.H. (June 16, 2010)Golf Digest, in conjunction with ESPN.com, has ranked The Shattuck the 43rd toughest course in the United States. The two media outlets recently listed the top-50 toughest golf courses on ESPN’s website. The Shattuck, located in Jaffrey, N.H., is the home golf course for the Franklin Pierce University golf program.

The Shattuck was joined by other impressive golf courses on the list, including ones that have hosted numerous major golf championships such as the U.S. Open and PGA Championship. Those courses include TPC Sawgrass, Pinehurst No. 2, Oakmont, PGA West/Stadium, Medinah No. 3, Bethpage Black and Winged Foot.

It’s the latest praise for The Shattuck from Golf Digest, as the publication has listed the course in its “Best Places to Play Directory” for the last several years.

The Shattuck is just one of the many impressive facilities that Ravens athletic teams call home. The Rindge campus houses Pappas Field, which is home to the nationally-ranked baseball program, and Sodexo Field, which houses the men’s and women’s soccer programs, the men’s and women’s lacrosse teams, and the field hockey program. The amenities at both facilities have enabled them to play host to numerous Northeast-10 and NCAA Regional events. The Fieldhouse, which is home to the men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball teams, provides a strong, home-court advantage and has hosted the Northeast-10 women’s basketball championship game each of the past two years.  The Fieldhouse also showcases famous athletic department accomplishments throughout its Hall of Fame and lobby areas. All 17 intercollegiate teams train year-around in the Northfield Activities Center, which is an air-supported dome that features, basketball courts, tennis courts, an indoor turf practice field, indoor track, weight room and cardiovascular area.
