Golf Concludes 2009-10 Season With Fourth Place Finish at Blazers Invitational
Three Ravens finish among the top-12 in the individual standings; Fleckles finishes seventh; Landy finishes ninth and placed among the top-15 in the individual standings in each of the four spring tournaments
CHICOPEE, Mass. (April 30, 2010) – The Franklin
Pierce University golf team concluded its 2009-10 season on Friday
as it placed fourth out of six teams with a 57-over par, 341, at
the Blazers Invitational, hosted by Elms College at the Chicopee
Country Club in Chicopee, Mass. Elms won the tournament after
firing a 319 (+35).
Three Ravens finished among the top-12 in the individual standings, including sophomore Brian Fleckles (Sandwich, Mass.), who placed seventh after carding a 10-over par 81. Freshman Ian Landry (Loudon, N.H.) finished in ninth place with an 82 (+11). Landry concluded his solid spring season by placing among the top-15 in each of his four tournaments played in. Sophomore William Powers (Southbury, Conn.) took 12th-place honors after firing a 13-over par, 84.
Playing in his final collegiate match, senior tri-captain Brandon Weiner (Marlboro, N.J.) finished 24th with a +23 (94). Jeff Gloshinski shot a 95 (+24) to tie for 25th and round out the individual competitors for the Ravens.
