Men's Golf Finishes 8th at Lou Flumere Mass Intercollegiate on Wednesday
Freshman Ian Landry is highest Ravens finisher with 15th place performance
STOWE, Mass. (April 7, 2010) -- The Franklin Pierce
University men's golf team returned to action on Wednesday and
opened its 2010 spring schedule with an eighth place finish out of
15 teams at the Lou Flumere Mass Intercollegiate, hosted by Bentley
University. The Ravens carded a score of 324 (+40).
Franklin Pierce finished ahead of the Holy Cross' "B" team, which
placed ninth with a score of 325 (+41). Holy Cross is a Division I
program, which competes in the Patriot League. Salem State won the
tournament with a score of 21-over, 305.
Freshman Ian Landry (Loudon, N.H.) was the highest finisher for
the Ravens as he shot a seven-over par, 78, to finish 15th out of
77 competitors. Senior Peter Panopoulos (Rindge, N.H.) placed 31st
with a 10-over, 81.
Sophomore William Powers (Southbury, Conn.) shot an 11-over, 82 to
place 37th, while senior Brandon Weiner (Marlboro, N.J.) followed
in 43rd with an 83 (+12). Sophomore Brian Fleckles placed 46th by
carding a score of 84 (+13).
Franklin Pierce returns to action April 15 when the Ravens compete
in the WNEC Invitational at 10:30 a.m.
