Franklin Pierce Finishes 29th at NEIGA Championship

Fleckles places 80th out of 215 individuals with two-day score of 162
BREWSTER, Mass. (October 21, 2008) - The Franklin Pierce University men's golf team concluded its fall season with a 29th place finish at the 74th New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship on the 36-hole layout at The Captains Golf Club over the last two days.
Bryant University won the 44 team event with a two-day score of 604 (313-291). Franklin Pierce posted a 674 (340-334) and placed eighth among the NCAA Division II programs at the event, with Post University posting the best team score of the group with a 632 (313-319) to place ninth overall. Sacred Heart University senior Matt Belizze took medalist honors with a birdie on the first playoff hole after finishing in a four-way tie at 147.
Freshman Brian Fleckles (Sandwich, Mass./Sandwich) led Franklin Pierce with a two-day score of 162 (82-80) to finish 80th out of the 215 individuals competing at the event. Senior captain Corey Dunn (Port Jefferson, N.Y./Comsewogue) rebounded from an opening round 86 to shoot 82 this afternoon to finish 124th overall with a score of 168.
