SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (September 29, 2008) - The Franklin Pierce University golf team placed 12th at the 2008 Northeast-10 Conference Championship on the 6,424-yard, par-71, layout at The Orchards Golf Club that concluded this afternoon.

Franklin Pierce posted a two-day score of 661 (332-329) at the event as Le Moyne College captured its first team title with a score of 599. The Dolphins out-paced second-place University of Massachusetts Lowell (294-317=611) by 12 strokes. Le Moyne freshman Kevin Jackson earned medalist honors with a two-over-par score of 144 (69-75) over the two days, edging Garrett Beyor, from host American International College, by a single stroke.

Freshman Brian Fleckles (Sandwich, Mass./Sandwich) led Franklin Pierce with a two-day score of 160, closing with a round of 77 today after shooting 83 on Sunday, to finish 34th overall among the 60 golfers at the event. Junior Peter Panopoulos (Rindge, N.H./Conant) followed with a 164 (81-83) for a 44th-place finish.

Franklin Pierce returns to the links on Thursday, October 9, when it defends its team title at the Saint Anselm College Fall Classic at Candia Wood Country Club at 11:30 a.m.
