Franklin Pierce Places Ninth at WNEC Invitational

Panopoulos cards 79 to place 12th overall
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 17, 2008) - The Franklin Pierce University golf team placed ninth at the Western New England College Invitational on the par-72 Veterans Golf Course this afternoon.
Franklin Pierce posted a 332 team score, while Husson College captured the team title with a score of 307. Husson's Adam Duplisea earned medalist honors with a birdie on the first playoff hole after finishing in a tie with Fernando Pineres of Babson with even-par rounds of 72.
Sophomore Peter Panopoulos (Rindge, N.H./Conant) led Franklin Pierce with a round of 79 to finish in a tie for 12th overall. Senior Craig Jasinski (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford) finished in a tie for 31st after carding an 83, while classmate Kevin Rossi (Kingston, N.Y./Kingston) posted an 84 to place 35th.
Franklin Pierce returns to the links on Monday and Tuesday for the American International College Invitational at Springfield Country Club.
